East Glacier Park, Montana — A man purposely drove a vehicle into a Central New York family not far from Glacier National Park, got out and started shooting at the family, killing the dad and a baby and critically injuring the mom, police said Tuesday night .
The man attacked the baby’s aunt with a knife, who fought back, killing the man, according to the Glacier County Sheriff’s Office.
The man, who had mental health issues, had a previous relationship with the aunt, police said. The aunt, who is David’s sister, is Christina Siau, 30.
The horrific attack happened shortly before 9 pm Sunday in the tiny village of East Glacier Park near Glacier National Park in Montana.
David Siau, 39, of Pompey and his 18-month-old daughter, McKenzie, were fatally shot. Christy Siau, 40, was shot but survived, police said.

The Glacier County Sheriff’s Office released more details late Tuesday on the shooting.
The attacker was identified as Derick Amos Madden, 37, of Goldsby, Oklahoma, the sheriff’s office said. Goldsby is about 1,500 miles from where the shooting happened.
After driving into the family walking along a road, he crashed his vehicle into a tree, police said. He got out armed with a shotgun and started shooting at the family members he had just hit or tried to hit with the vehicle, they said
Madden shot and killed David, police said. He continued shooting people as they ran away, hitting both Christy and baby McKenzie who was 18 months old, police said. Christy was carrying McKenzie when they were both shot.
Madden next attacked David’s sister, Christina Siau, of East Glacier Park, Montana with a knife, stabbing her, police said.
She fought for her life and despite being critically wounded, killed Madden, police said. Madden died at the scene.
The Pompey couple’s other two children were able to run away and were not injured, police said.
David died at the scene. McKenzie, Christy and Christina were rushed to Indian Health Services in Browning, about 13 miles away. McKenzie was declared dead there.
Christy and Christina, who were critically injured, were airlifted to another hospital for more care.
The village where the shooting happened is on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, which borders Glacier National Park to the west and Canada to the north. The village has a year-round population of about 300 people.
